Monica
Carpendale BFA, DVATI, RCAT, BCATR Executive Director, Instructor,
Supervisor Monica has had a private practice in Art Therapy
for over 20 years and has lectured and taught extensively. She is the
inventor of the Blue Heron series of games to help children develop
communication skills. Monica founded the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in
1994.

Jan
Souza MA, DKATI, RCAT, BCATR Instructor, Supervisor Jan
is a registered Art Therapist and Team Leader for Child & Youth Mental
Health (BC Ministry of Children and Families) in the West
Kootenays. She has worked as a child and family counselor since
1972. She provides instruction in psychopathology, clinical
assessment and suicide assessment. She also provides clinical supervision
to KATI students. Many KATI Graduates now provide contracted child and
youth services and Jan provides a monthly consultation group for these
contractors.

Christine Lummis, BA, DKATI, RCAT Instructor,
Supervisor Christine is a professional Art Therapist
specializing in adult insight-oriented therapy, expressive movement,
trauma, abuse, grief and loss, addictions and mental health issues. She
has run an Intensive Day Treatment Program for women with addictions in
the West Kootenays for the past five years, using a therapeutic art
approach.

Lucille
Proulx, M.A., ATPQ, ATR, RCAT Instructor, Supervisor, Thesis
Advisor Lucille is a registered Art Therapist with a Masters
degree in art therapy from
Concordia University in Montreal, QC. She has 50 years of experience
working with children and
parents in the community, private clinics and at a children’s
hospital. Lucilletaught at the British Columbia School of Art Therapy,
and conducts specialized training workshops for professionals and
parents around the world. Her
recent book is Strengthening Emotional Ties Through Parent-Child Dyad Art
Therapy, Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London, Israel and she is the
author of several self-published documents. She returns to the Kutenai Art Therapy
Institute after a 2 ˝ year sejour in Thailand where she trained mental
health professionals in the uses of art in
healing.

Marsha Early, BA,
BSW, MSW, RSW Instructor, Thesis Advisor Marsha's work is
grounded in feminist and social work theory. Her 30 years of experience includes
direct client service in the areas of family support, child
protection, persons with
disabilities, homeless youth, and with victims of sexual and
physical assault. She works
at The Advocacy Centre in Nelson providing community-based victim
assistance. |

Lani Garity, DA,
ATR-BC Supervisor Lani also teaches with NYU
and holds a Doctorate and Master's degree from there. She has
practiced art therapy with adults at the Post Graduate Center for Mental
Health in New York City. She had a private practice in Hamilton, Ontario,
with adults and children. Lani now lives in Nova Scotia where she writes,
creates puppets, and supervises other art therapists. She is the author of
several articles, books, and eBooks, and has presented her research
internationally.

Jeremy
Addington,
BA, BAA, DKATI Instructor Jeremy is a commercial/fine art
photographer living in Nelson. He is a graduate of York University,
Ryerson Institute, and the Art Therapy Institute. He is the facilitator
of
the Men’s Day Treatment Program in the West Kootenays.
A college
instructor for a dozen years, he is at present a lecturer at the
Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. |

Steve is a child and youth
clinician through WE Graham Community Services. His thesis was about the
aggressive art of latency age children. |
Judith Robertson BScH, BEd,
DKATI
Judith Robertson graduated
from KATI in 2004. She has a
private practice; “Inspiring Horizons”, that specializes in nature-based
art therapy. Judith has more
than 16 years experience as a wilderness therapist and Program Manager
with Outward Bound, where she has worked with a variety of populations,
including troubled youth and adult survivors of abuse.

Jen has worked as an administrator with a
number of organizations over the years. After graduating from KATI in 2004
she has worked as an art therapist here in British Columbia. Her
speciality is working with people who have experienced traumatic brain
injuries. |
