| DISTANCE PROGRAM STRUCTURE | |
|
The Institute uses a residential model of periodic intensive experiential coursework throughout the year, combined with online theoretical courses and practicum placements in the student’s home community. Each year there are three intensives where distance students are required to come to Nelson and participate in courses and activities at the Institute. Although the exact dates vary each year, there are three weeks in September, three weeks in January/February, and two weeks in May. Supervision is offered to distance students in a number of formats: with local registered art therapists for face-to-face individual supervision, email and phone supervision, and group supervision during the residencies. Students may arrange practica in his or her place of work if approved by the Institute. The Distance structure is designed
to be able to meet individual needs within the requirements of the art
therapy training program. If you have any questions about your
situation, please feel free to contact the
Institute.
